HALLOWEEN

Halloween: another love/hate relationship in my book. I love watching how excited my kids get for the big night, seeing all of the neighborhood kids in their cute costumes, and vicariously experiencing the simple joy that comes from sorting through bags of loot at the end of the evening. On the flip side, I don't care much for the money pit that Halloween seems to be, or for the candy that lasts until June. In spite of all this, I must admit that Halloween was a great success this year!

We were so happy to have Grandma and Grandpa Paulson here! The last time we were with them on Halloween, Emily was just a year old. One of the hard things about living away from family is missing little moments like these, so we are so happy whenever grandparents can spend time with us. We love you--thanks so much for coming!!!

Bret loves this mask. He wears it every year, even though it frightens most of the young children who come to the door. I think masks in general are disgusting, and this one is particularly heinous, but I am pretty sure he will never get rid of it.

Steph! I was so excited to hear you got a blog! I've never seen four girls dressed up so original and look so cute on Halloween. I can't wait to see you all at Christmas!
