While I was out. . .

The girls had a fun "sister weekend" of their own while I was in Arizona with my mom and sisters.  Allison was a great help with meals and getting Sydney and Caroline ready in the morning, and Bret was able to work from home, so I didn't really have to call in many favors from neighbors this time.


 Bret took the girls to the fabric store, and Allison headed up this blanket making project one afternoon while I was gone.  They surprised me with it as a "welcome home" gift.  I think it turned out cute--I'm impressed!


After watching a few hundred episodes of Cake Boss and Ace of Cakes, the girls decided to try their hand at frosting a cake with fondant.  Allison found a recipe online, and they all decorated the cake together.  It tasted good, but I'm not sure if they're ready for Charm City Cakes just yet!




Pancakes for dinner and cookies for dessert--one of the great things about Mom being out of town!  And, no broccoli all weekend!
