The Happiest (birthday) Place on Earth

Caroline had quite the birthday celebration this year. My niece Ashley e-mailed me a few weeks ago and told me that her mom (my sister) would be in town, and that they were thinking of going to Disneyland on the 23rd or 24th of March. Although I had sworn to stay away from this place until well after spring break season, I couldn't resist meeting up with family for a birthday celebration. The party only got better when Melissa decided to renew her passes and join us. We stayed at California Adventure (which is usually the less crowded of the two parks) the whole day, but the crowds were still pretty fierce. Add to that the fact that it was much hotter than the predicted 75 degrees (I forgot to add on the ten Disney degrees) and the fact that I was stupid and wore jeans, and the day could have been a real disaster. But, the Disney magic came through, and we had a great time. It was so much fun to get to spend the day with my sisters and my niece, nephews, and great nephew (wow, I am old!). I go through the same range of emotions every time I make the trek to Anaheim: I am excited and ready for anything on the drive there, I curse the crowds once I am in the park, I vow never to return as I am getting on the tram to go home, and then the next morning I bask in the wonderful memories and good times we had as I look forward to the next time we can spend the day with Mickey.Sam and Caroline enjoying birthday cupcakes (of course, Caroline only ate the frosting)
Check out Carter's tongue. I think the Albertson's bakery used permanent Sharpie ink to dye the green frosting for the cupcakes.
The whole cousin gang: Ashley, Eli, Allison, Jacob, Carter, Sam, Caroline, Sydney, Emily
I took this picture outside the Monsters Inc. ride. This is a ride that I have never once had to wait in line for, but today there was a 25 minute wait. If you have to wait for Monsters Inc., you know the crowds are bad!
Caroline was out cold within minutes of getting in the car. It was a long day, but well worth it!
