Every spring, the kindergarten through fifth grade classes at Sycamore Canyon put on a play. They are always so cute, and inevitably bring me to tears as I contemplate another year coming to an end, and my kids growing up faster than it seems possible. This year, the kindergarteners did a play called "Friendly Neighborhood Helpers." They dressed up and sang songs about different members of the community. Sydney was a firefighter, and a very cute one!

Caroline went with me to both the daytime and evening performances. She loved it, and knew most of the songs already since Sydney has been singing them at home non-stop.

Sydney's line: "That's the end of our countdown. We hope that this week you will all be especially nice to your friendly neighborhood helpers!"

Sydney was so animated throughout the play, and did every action over the top. It was fun to watch her. The little boy next to her, Won Jin, just moved here from Korea about two weeks ago, and doesn't speak any English. I kept thinking how terrifying it would be to be on stage dancing around and trying to sing to a foreign language. But, he didn't seem to mind, and the kids are all very nice to him and try to help him however they can.

There is just something about those programs that make me emotional! I can't believe Luke and Sydney are going to be in school all day next year, when did they get so big???
