The third grade play this year was titled "Vacation on Mars." It was the story of a family who took a trip through the solar system on their way to mars. It was actually a very well written play, with plenty of little jokes for the parents sprinkled in. Since the third graders have been studying the solar system, this was a great way for them to learn and memorize all kinds of facts through the songs in the play. For instance, every one of them could tell you that the sun is 90 million miles from earth, that Jupiter can fit all of the other planets inside of it, that the rings of saturn are made of rocks and ice, and many, many other important tidbits.

Emily was a Venette; a member of Venus' entourage. She danced and sang a song about Venus: "Oh, she's hot, she's nobody's fool. Oh, she's hot, she's so hot she's cool. . .Her temperature's just right, 900 Farenheit. . ."
