The Paulson Family: First Day of School

The first day of school this year was August 27, 2008. All three girls are attending Sycamore Canyon School, which is less than a ten minute walk down the hill from our house. Allison is in the middle school part of the campus, Emily is in the main elementary campus, and Sydney is in the kindergarten wing, so they rarely (if ever) see each other once they are at school. But, it is very convenient having everyone at the same place!

Sydney was SO excited for her first day of school. We have been doing the "how many more days until I get to go to kindergarten" countdown every day for about the past 10 months. She did have a moment of panic when it came time for us to leave her, though. She had a death grip on my hand, and I could feel her heart pounding as she told me she changed her mind and didn't want to stay at school. She eventually agreed that she would stay and give it a try. She was all smiles when I picked her up that afternoon, as I knew she would be. She loves her teacher, Miss Krukowski ("Miss K") and loves just about everything about school.
